Grocery stores and markets are retailers that specialize in selling food and other common household items. Larger grocery stores and food markets are often called supermarkets. Most grocery stores, food markets and supermarkets sell fresh produce, fresh meats, canned food, frozen food and dairy products. Some supermarkets also have drug stores and pharmacies inside of them as well as delis and bakeries. Some grocery stores specialize in selling a certain type of ethnic food such as an Asian grocery store. Some grocers and markets specialize in selling health food, organic food or gourmet food. Some smaller grocers in large cites are called bodegas.
